The maintenance and preservation of your raincoat
To wash
When the seasons change, you want to wash your summer or winter coat and hang it in the closet. Most people then just put the coat in the washing machine, dry it and hang it away.
But… did you know that your raincoat has a water-repellent layer on the outside?
It is therefore advisable to wash your jacket with a detergent specially developed for rainwear.

Maintain
Unfortunately, clothing and therefore your raincoat wears out through use and also through washing. But it also wears out in places where the fabric rubs against the other fabric layer.
With years of use, the breathability can also deteriorate, often because the fabric of the jacket becomes full of dirt.
A product has been developed especially for this maintenance: Nikwax.
These are two products that together provide this maintenance:
1. Nikwax Techwash a bottle with a deep cleaner, which ensures that the jacket is cleaned again and that the breathability is restored.
2. Nikwax TX direct, a bottle with an impregnation agent. This ensures the jacket remains waterproof.
Both bottles have a capacity of 300 ml and are sold in 1 package.
The cost of these 2 bottles is €21.95.
You can use Nikwax by hand or in the washing machine. Just check the care label of the jacket you want to treat, so that you wash at the correct temperature and settings.
The information on the washing label of the coat is always leading. Unfortunately, it can also happen that a coat cannot be washed, this is then due to the material.

Other outdoor items
In addition to your rain jacket, you can also use Nikwax for your other outdoor gear.
This means that in addition to your rain gear, winter coat and rain trousers, you can also clean your other outdoor equipment.
Hang your coat back up clean and protected in the closet, ready for the next season!
Enjoy your clothes for longer, which is of course also good for the environment.
