Stacy Struminger, a New Yorker and now living in Richmond, VA by profession, had long felt the need to create a stylish, lightweight and water-repellent accessory. This is due to Richmond's often wet and humid climate. In the spring of 2011, an extended period of rain left Stacy frustrated by the lack of a fashionable, waterproof garment in her wardrobe. Stacy searched in vain, but nothing in stores convinced her of rainwear, which was also stylish. Through an item of clothing in her closet, she got the inspiration for a water-repellent poncho, which was not only user-friendly, but also stylish. sharing with her best friend, Rachel Teyssier, they decided together to make the vision a reality. Therefore, a revolution in the development of fashionable water-repellent outerwear began and RAINRAPS was developed.
